On behalf of the Belgian construction company Stadsbader, Palmax processes about 2,000 tons of reinforcement steel in the new distribution centre of Nike in Ham, Belgium. Palmax started work at the end of September 2017, the completion of the project will take place around April 2018.
Nike's new distribution centre will be powered entirely by renewable energy, in Nike's pursuit of CO2-neutral and waste-free operations. The warehouse will be named The Court and will contribute to the expansion of Nike's logistics capabilities to meet growing consumer demand while promoting sustainability.
The Court will be 1.5 million square meters in size and will run entirely on wind, solar, geothermal, hydroelectric and biomass energy. Compared to a traditional distribution centre, less reinforcement steel and concrete are needed, thus minimising waste and reducing the use of material in the construction process.
