On the side of the Wadden Sea the closing dike is reinforced with a new upholstery, in the form of innovative concrete elements. These blocks weigh about 6500 kg each, are very strong, have a wave braking effect and are easy to place. Due to its symmetry and regular placement, the blocks give a calm image that strengthens the tight, autonomous character of the dike.

In order to protect the hinterland from the power of the water, the slugs are also strengthened and two storm surges are built. In the project Palmax will process 17,000 tons of steel.
